‘Waiting to Exhale’ Sequel Planned For Release

Author Terry McMillan first garnered national attention for her third novel, Waiting to Exhale, which Forest Whitaker brought to film screens. Now Ms. Now, McMillan recently tweeted the sequel of Waiting to Exhale, ‘Getting Happy,’ should be in theaters by the end of next year.

The unforgettable cast Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, and Lela Rochon, depicted the different stages of love and life in Waiting to Exhale.

Waiting to Exhale was an box office success, opening at No. 1 in North America and earning over eight-one million dollars worldwide. In addition, the soundtrack which was executive produced by Babyface, had four songs (Exhale [Shoop Shoop], Not Gon’ Cry, Sittin’ Up in My Room, Count on Me) that reached the top ten in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

The novel ‘Getting Happy’ which the sequel is based on was published last year.
