R&B diva Beyonce has teamed with First Lady Michelle Obama and The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF), to help encourage kids to stay active.

“I am excited to be part of this effort that addresses a public health crisis,” says Beyonce in a statement. “First Lady Michelle Obama deserves credit for tackling this issue directly, and I applaud the NAB Education Foundation for trying to make a positive difference in the lives of our schoolchildren.”

The campaign, dubbed the “Let’s Move! Flash Workout”, is designed to show support for Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign to curb childhood obesity.

Beyonce has re-written and re-recorded one of her songs for middle school students across the U.S. to perform a pre-choreographed dance exercise at 1:42 p.m. on May 3. In addition, she personally recorded an instructional video demonstrating the dance routine for students.

Great idea…don’t you think?
