R&B veteran El DeBarge’s monumental comeback has been halted and the “Second Chance” singer has checked into rehab to address years of substance abuse. In a statement released by DeBarge, 49, he says he needs to take time to address his issues so he can continue to entertain.

“I hate to disappoint my fans but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music and my story with everyone,” says DeBarge.

He has postponed all scheduled performances for Kem’s upcoming Intimacy tour which also includes R&B songstress Ledisi. The trek is set to kick off Thursday, February 17 in Houston, Texas. Musiq Soulchild will replace him on the bill.

El DeBarge has put together a huge comeback after halting his career for 16 years due to substance abuse. After a groundbreaking performance at last year’s BET Awards (2010), DeBarge released a new album titled ‘Second Chance,’ and has collaborated with artists like 50 Cent, Faith Evans, Lloyd and more.

We wish El the best!

It’s been a tumultuous year for El DeBarge, and now the singer is taking time to focus on himself. The R&B star has just announced his decision to enter rehab and cancel his upcoming tour. Fans are heartbroken over this news as they had eagerly anticipated seeing him perform live.

El DeBarge first made an impact in the music industry with Motown Records back in 1986 when he released his debut album “The Decline.” He quickly gained immense popularity due to his distinctive sound and passionate performances onstage. His influence spread far and wide throughout the years; many people consider El DeBarge to be one of the most important figures in modern R&B music.

Now, fans will have to wait until further notice before being able to hear El DeBarge’s classic tracks performed live again. It remains unclear what led up to this sudden move but it’s certain that this recent development has come as a shock for both fans and fellow musicians alike.

Background Of El Debarge

El DeBarge has been a staple of the R&B music scene since the 1980s. Known for his smooth falsetto and soulful sound, El has released numerous hits over the years that have earned him critical acclaim and millions of devoted fans across the world.

Recently, however, El DeBarge made headlines when he announced that he would be cancelling his upcoming tour to pursue rehabilitation treatment. This news came as a shock to many people who had already purchased tickets or were planning on attending one of his concerts.

Though it is unclear why exactly El felt the need to seek out this form of help at this time, what we can say is that he obviously feels very strongly about getting better and making sure that he can continue creating good music for us all to enjoy in the future. We wish El well in his journey towards recovery and look forward to hearing more from him soon!

Reasons For Rehab And Tour Cancellation

Although the exact reasons for El DeBarge’s decision to pursue rehabilitation and cancel his tour remain unclear, there are a few factors that might have played into it. First of all, he may have been facing personal struggles or health issues that prompted him to take this step. Additionally, with the stress of touring and performing coming on top of any other difficulties he was already dealing with, it may have become too much for him to handle.

Whatever the reasons were behind his choice, one thing is certain: El DeBarge clearly cares about himself and his well-being enough to prioritize getting help in order to improve his life. It takes strength and courage to make such a difficult decision – something we can all learn from and respect.

We hope that through rehab, El will be able to find peace and balance in his life so that he can continue creating music for us all to enjoy soon!

Conclusion

El DeBarge is an iconic R&B singer who has blessed us with his music and presence for more than three decades. Unfortunately, he recently announced that he would be heading to rehab and cancelling his tour due to personal issues.

It’s always sad when a beloved artist can’t follow through on their commitments, but it’s important to remember that El DeBarge is making the right decision by seeking help. He obviously values his health and wellbeing over continuing with his tour. It’s admirable of him to take this step towards bettering himself and we should respect his privacy while he works on overcoming any obstacles in his way.

We wish El DeBarge all the best as he embarks on this journey and look forward to seeing him back on stage soon! His fans are sure to give him love and support during this difficult time, proving once again why El DeBarge continues to have such a dedicated following after all these years.
