THE REVIEW: Miguel Lifts Joe’s Pub

Miguel gave his fans a double dose of his budding catalog this past week with two spot dates at the renowned Joe’s Pub live concert venue in New York City’s East Village neighborhood.

If you didn’t purchase his slept on debut album “All I Want Is You” before the show, Miguel gave you a reason to after performing eight of its thirteen cuts during his set.

Accompanied by his band, the 2010 Singersroom Artist Watch crooner kicked the night off with an energetic performance of “Pay Me,” followed by his own rendition of Drake’s single “Fancy” to get the ladies in attendance involved.

The Youtube favorite “Strawberry” gave way to his second single “Sure Thing,” which was the night’s most recited song. “Teach Me” lead to an impromptu accapella freestyle with a piano solo. Selections “Girl With The Tattoo,” “Pure Imagination,” “Girls Like You,” “Quickie” and “To The Moon” were equally delivered and received by the guests and fans attending. The intimate show was closed out with his first single “All I Want Is You.”

Although his debut has been received well by the masses, Miguel continues to push genre-bending sound with an undeniable stage presence. I was sold when the show concluded, so once you see Miguel live, he will definitely win you over.
