Fake Booking Agent Arrested Over Fraudulent Keyshia Cole Event

A man posing as a booking agent for R&B singer Keyshia Cole has been arrested in Mississippi after allegedly attempting to con a student out of cash to set up a bogus concert featuring the “Long Way Down” star.

Percy Pittman, 25, took a $750 up front booking fee from an unidentified student in Shreveport in December (2010), after meeting to discuss plans for an Aids benefit show at a local college. Another $6,300 was to be collected at a later date.

With smart thinking, the student became suspicious of the contract he had been given and called in officials from the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force to investigate.

The contract and the booking agent’s connection to Cole were exposed as a scam and Pittman was arrested at a follow-up meeting with the student.

Pittman faces a charge of felony theft and cops have appealed for any other individuals who have had business dealings with Pittman to come forward as they, too, may have been conned.
