We guest R&B singer Lloyd wonât be taming any hearts for Valentineâs Day. The âLay It Downâ singerâs fourth studio album, âKing of Hearts,â has been pushed back for a March 22 release.
The set, the follow-up to 2008’s Lessons in Love, was originally-intended for a February 14 Valentine’s Day release. Instead, the former Murder Inc. singer and his Zone 4 team decided to push out the release to set a bigger promotional stage.
“I got a lot of surprises. I think that a lot of people haven’t heard me sound like this, haven’t heard me sing like this,” Lloyd previously voiced about the LP. âIt’s gonna be a new look, it’s gonna be like I’m back for the first time. It should be anticipated. The album is gonna be my best work to date.”
Lloyd recently released a remix of his lead single âLay It Down,â which features veteran soul singer Patti Labelle.
Lloyd’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, ‘King Of Hearts’ is officially being pushed back to March of 2021. Fans who have been following his career since the beginning are eagerly awaiting this project, as it will be Lloyd’s first solo release in eight years. From the few singles that have already been released, we can tell that this album is going to be a hit and well worth the wait!
The success of Lloyd’s previous albums has created high expectations for ‘King Of Hearts’. His debut album Southside was certified double platinum and spawned two top ten hits; “Hey Young Girl” and “You”. Following up with Lessons In Love, Street Love and King Of Hearts, he continued making waves on the music scene. His songs are known for their catchy hooks and soulful lyrics about love and relationships – something everyone can relate to.
We won’t have to wait much longer until we get our hands on ‘King Of Hearts’, but one thing is certain: Lloyd always delivers when it comes to creating timeless tunes full of emotion-filled lyrics. We’re sure this new album will be no exception!
Overview Of Album
Lloyd’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, King of Hearts, was originally scheduled to drop in early February 2021. However, it has been pushed back until March due to some production delays and the related complications of creating a cohesive body of work during unprecedented times.
The project is set to feature 15 tracks with an impressive list of guest features including Future, Ty Dolla $ign, Roddy Ricch and Gunna. On top of this, fans can also expect two bonus tracks featuring Young Thug and Lil Durk on its deluxe edition version.
In anticipation for what could be one of his best projects yet, Lloyd has released several singles from the upcoming album such as ‘Caramel’ feat. City Girls & Saweetie and ‘Tru’ feat Rick Ross & 2 Chainz as well as accompanying visuals that have been critically acclaimed by both critics and fans alike. We can only wait eagerly for what he will bring us next when the full album finally drops in March!
Delay In Release Date
The delay in the release date of Lloyd’s album was met with a variety of reactions. While some fans understood the challenges that come with creating an entire body of work during these unprecedented times, others were disappointed and expressed their feelings on social media platforms.
Lloyd himself addressed the situation via Instagram Live, where he shared his thoughts on the new release date: “I know y’all been waiting for this project to drop, so I just wanna apologize for pushing it back but there’s no better way to do it than right! We’re gonna make sure we deliver what you guys want and something even bigger!”
He further explained why the decision had to be made, citing production delays as one of the main reasons. In addition, he also wanted more time to perfect each song and craft a cohesive piece of art before releasing it into the world. With all these factors at play, March seems like a realistic timeframe for King Of Hearts.
Conclusion
I’m excited to finally hear Lloyd’s new album, King of Hearts. After a few delays and push backs, the release date has been set for March 11th. I’ve heard some great things about it from fellow fans, so I can’t wait to get my hands on it and experience it for myself.
This is an exciting time for Lloyd as he has worked hard to bring this project together and really showcase his talent and artistry. It will be interesting to see how the public reacts when the album drops next month. From what little we have seen of the singles that are out now, I think King of Hearts is going to be a hit with music lovers around the world.
All in all, Lloyd has put a lot of effort into creating something special with this album and I am looking forward to its release.
