As the music industry continues to go through its digital transition, former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett continues to find ways to stay a float. The spokeswoman for Luster’s Pink Brand Smooth Touch has reportedly landed a recurring role on the new HBO drama “Treme.” Set in post Katrina New Orleans, “Treme” follows the daily lives of a group of residents trying to rebuild after the devastating effects of hurricane. Adding more to her resume, Luckett was also casted in the upcoming film “From the Rough,” which also stars Taraji P. Henson and Tom Felton. Currently in pre-production, the film is schedule for a fall 2011 release. Luckett is no stranger to the big screen. She made her first TV appearance on the WB show “Smart Guy” back in 1998 with Destiny’s Child. Since 2008 she has taken part in several plays and movies. This year alone she starred in the movie Preacher’s Kid (Jan. 2010) with Tank and appeared in the film Killers (Jun 2010), along with Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Tom Selleck and Usher. LeToya recently stated and she is in the studio working on her third studio album, due out in 2011.

LeToya Luckett is a triple threat: an actress, singer, and songwriter. She’s been in the entertainment world since her days as part of Destiny’s Child back in 2000. Now she’s making waves with her own solo career and taking on more acting gigs. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of her third album and to see what other projects she dives into next!

Luckett has come a long way from singing alongside Beyonce Knowles in Destiny’s Child. After releasing two successful albums – LeToya (2006) and Lady Love (2009) – and appearing in films such as Preacher’s Kid and A Town Without Christmas, Luckett is continuing to expand her repertoire. Her newest film project will be Tyler Perry’s upcoming drama Too Close To Home, where she stars opposite AnnaLynne McCord. In addition to this new role, Luckett recently starred in When The Bough Breaks and is currently working on producing a few television shows for BET Networks.

The Texas native also hasn’t forgotten about music; instead of resting on the success of her first two albums, Luckett is hard at work on creating new material for her third studio album slated to drop later this year. Despite all that she has accomplished so far, it looks like there’s much more that Luckett still wants to achieve – which means fans everywhere can look forward to seeing even bigger moves from their favorite entertainer!

Letoya Luckett Career Overview

LeToya Luckett has been working hard in the music and acting industries for over 15 years. She first rose to fame as one of the original members of Destiny’s Child, before launching her own solo career in 2006 with her debut album LeToya. Recently, she scored major roles on ABC’s Mixed-ish and Fox’s Proven Innocent, both slated to air this fall. Luckett is staying quite busy with her latest projects. She recently starred in the drama series Mixed-ish, which follows a young girl as she navigates the complexities of having a mixed-race family.
