After months of public speculation and criticism, R&B Diva Fantasia Barrino has recently found a silver lining in the midst of the gossip and drama. North Carolina courts ruled that her married lover, Antwaun Cook was in fact separated from his wife at the time of Cook and Barrino’s affair. Ex-wife Paula accused the American Idol winner of knowingly pursuing a relationship with Cook despite knowledge of their existing marriage. Court proceedings revealed the couple’s separation date was September 14, 2009 and not June 2010 as Paula previously claimed. RadarOnline.com recently confirmed that the Mecklenburg County judge ruled in favor of Cook in his divorce against Paula. In a shocking revelation, as Barrino took the witness stand last month she admitted to having aborted Cook’s child. “Did you tell Mr. Cook you aborted his child?” Barrino was asked. She responded that she had informed Cook. She was then asked when the procedure was performed, in which she answered, “It hasn’t been too long ago.” No information has been given yet as to how the decision of the court will affect Paula’s original plan to sue Fantasia under North Carolina’s Alienation of Affection Law — which allows the abandoned spouse to file a suit against the individual(s) responsible for the failure of the marriage.
