Michael Jackson, “Michael” (Epic) Surrounded by a lot of controversy, including unauthorized artwork, fake vocals, and artist like will.i.am bashing its release, Michael Jacksonâs first posthumous album, âMichael,â hit stores today. The set is lead by âBreaking News,â âHold My Handâ featuring Akon, âMonsterâ featuring 50 Cent and âMuch Too Soon,â which was recorded in the âThrillerâ days. “He wanted to put out music that was positive enough to bring the world together,” Akon states about Hold My Hand. Lets just hope Jacksonâs millions of fans around the world feel the same. R. Kelly, “Love Letter” (Jive) After releasing his compilation album, ‘Epic,’ this past September, R. Kelly issues his 11th studio album, ‘Love Letter.’ The set will be preceded by the soulful ballad âWhen a Woman Lovesâ and the follow-up single âLove Letter,â both produced by Kelly. On the track “Number One Hit,” he used Jackson as a metaphor, telling his love “You are my Michael Jackson ‘Thriller.'” R. Kelly has sold more than 34 million records worldwide, released seven No. 1 albums and twelve multi-platinum-selling albums, and has charted eleven No. 1 singles. Kandi, âKandi Koatedâ (Warner) Former Xscape member Kandi unleashes her sophomore solo effort Kandi âKoated.â Dubbed âa relationship CD,â âKandi Koatedâ features production by Neyo, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Jazze Phae, K.P. and Malay, Brian Michael Cox, Black Elvis, Drumma Boy, and St. Nick. Additionally, her former Xscape bandmate Tiny makes an appearance on the track âSuperwoman.â âThis is definitely going to be a more personal record. Itâs mostly about relationships,â Kandi recently stated. âAnd not just about a man with a woman but lifeâs relationships. In particular, a record that means the world to me is called âLeroy Jones,â itâs about my stepfather. He is an incredible man and has meant so much to me over the years so I wanted to honor him.â Tank, âNow or Neverâ (Atlantic) R&B crooner Tank drops his new album, âNow or Never,â the follow up to 2007âs âSex, Love & Pain,â and boast collaborations from Chris Brown and rapper Drake. âItâs the right timeâ¦December 14th is going to be a major day for R&B,â Tank tells Singersroom. The set is lead by the singles âSex Music,â âEmergency,â and âCelebrationâ featuring Drake. Ciara, âBasic Instinctâ (Jive) After multiple delays Ciara’s fourth studio album, “Basic Instinct” has landed. Ciara executive produced the set with Tricky Stewart and The Dream and calls it her best record to date. âMy fans are really going to be in for a treat,â she said.
