A cousin of Soul Legend Aretha Franklin, says the ailing âRespectâ hitmaker is “doing better than doctors expected” and expects to be released from the hospital this weekend, reports the Associated Press. “[She] has a long life in front of her and will be back in concert, on stage, late spring or early summer,â Brenda Corbett tells the Detroit Free Press. Franklin announced last week that she had undergone an unidentified surgical procedure, but according to reports published yesterday, the mystery illness is Pancreatic Cancer.
