Expecting to see âBoom Boom Powâ numbers, the Black Eye Peas fell short on the Billboard 200 Album chart with a No. 6 debut for their latest outing âThe Beginning.â The set moved 119,000 copies, far shy of the 304,000 moved by their last offering âThe E.N.D.â The new album is lead by the single, “The Time (Dirty Bit),” which jumped five places to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. This weeks No. 1 debut goes back to Susan Boyle and her Holiday album, âThe Gift,â which shifted 272,000 copies. Last week’s champ, Kanye West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” fell to No. 7 with 108,000 copies, a whopping 78% drop in sales. Nicki Minaj, who was the runner-up last week, fell six to No. 8 with 103,000 in its second week. On the R&B front, Rihannaâs fifth studio album âLoudâ rose four spot to No. 10 with 77,000 units moved. Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michele and Ron Isley, newcomers on the chart, saw a shortage in sales. Sullivan’s second album “Love Me Back” came in at No. 17 with 55,648 copies sold, while Micheleâs third effort “Let Freedom Reign” launched at No. 25 with 42,039 discs sold. Ron Isley saw 22,243 copies sold, debuting at No. 50.
