SINGERSROOM ROUNDS: Willow Whips, Beyonce Watched, Rihanna Tops and Michelle Popular

Newcomer Willow Smith has cracked the top five Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart with her breakout single “Whip My Hair.” The new anthem jumps 7-5 on the coveted chart and continues to rise after weeks of its release. “Whip My Hair” is also in the top 20 downloaded songs on iTunes. Beyonce’s Thanksgiving special on ABC caught the attention of viewers on a night when TV viewership is low. Competing with the NFL football game and a special from Taylor swift, the “Single Ladies” hitmaker ousted Swift, pulling in 4.44 million viewers and a 1.4 demo for second. “I Am…World Tour” is now in stores. Rihanna has logged a double chart topper in the UK, almost becoming one of the only stars to register number one albums and singles on two continents in the same week. Her new album ‘Loud’ debuted at the top in the UK, while her hit single “Only Girl (in The World)” scores a fourth week at number one in the European Hot 100 Singles countdown. The success comes just two days after Loud debuted at no. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and Only Girl (In the World) made her the first artist since Usher in 2004 to score four U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number ones in a calendar year. Former Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams recently stated why she decided to join British TV dance show “Strictly Come Dancing.” Speaking to UK’s Metro, she says to “raise my profile in the UK and let people see the me.” However, she modestly admitted and joked: “It has not quite worked out like that”. Williams was recently eliminated from the show.
