Singersroom Rounds: Usher Wants Cole, Beyonce’s Parents Missed Divorce, Akon Disagrees with

R&B crooner Usher has invited X Factor’s Cheryl Cole to accompany him on the UK leg of his “OMG Tour,” which will kick off in February 2011. Ursh reportedly wants to take Cole out on a date, for a typically British roast dinner if she agrees to take up his offer. Speaking to The Mirror He says, “Cheryl is so pretty … I spent a little time with her in England last month at The X Factor. I’m sure she’s gonna make it in the States. She’s got it going on.” Cole has been receiving a lot of recognition from U.S. artists, including pop star Rihanna. According to reports, Beyonce’s parents have forfeited their divorce after failing to appear in court. Tina Knowles filed the divorce papers in Texas last November (09) but TMZ reports a judge put a stop to the proceedings after a no-show from both parties. The powerhouse parents have been married for 29 years. Unlike pop star Will.I.Am, R&B singer Akon does not feel that Michael Jackson’s forthcoming album, “Michael,” is disrespectful to the late King of Pop’s legacy. recently told EW of the upcoming CD, “Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are … He just wasn’t any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring.” In contrary, Akon tells TMZ he “honestly disagrees” with the Black Eyed Peas frontman, adding, “I don’t see anything disrespectful about it … these albums would have come out if [MJ] was alive or dead so I think this helps to keep his legacy alive.” Akon also states that working with Michael on “Hold My Hand” was a “dream come true … it was epic.”
