Former Xscape member Kandi will has set December 14th for the release of her sophomore album Kandi ‘Koated.’ In support of the album, the Grammy Award-winning R&B star will join her friend Fantasia’s 22-city “Back To Me” tour starting on Friday, November 5th in Norfolk, VA. Dubbed “a relationship CD,” ‘Kandi Koated’ features production by Neyo, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Jazze Phae, K.P. and Malay, Brian Michael Cox, Black Elvis, Drumma Boy, and St. Nick. Additionally, her former Xscape bandmate Tiny makes an appearance on the track “Superwoman.” “This is definitely going to be a more personal record. It’s mostly about relationships,” Kandi recently stated. “And not just about a man with a woman but life’s relationships. In particular, a record that means the world to me is called ‘Leroy Jones,’ it’s about my stepfather. He is an incredible man and has meant so much to me over the years so I wanted to honor him.” The set is led by the first single “Leave U,” produced by Jazze Phae. The track contemplates the battle between choosing a good guy over a bad guy, good girl, over bad girl.
