Pop singer Christina Aguilera will have a moment when sheâs not thinking about her recent divorce from husband Jordan Bratman of 5 years. The âBionicâ singer has been added as a performer for this yearâs Amerian Music Awards. Aguilera will take to the stage at the 38th annual ceremony to perform a track from her upcoming musical Burlesque. “Christina is known for her powerful and engaging performances,” said AMAs producer Larry Klein. “We are looking forward to her ‘Burlesque’ number, which will showcase moments from one of the most anticipated films of the season.” Aguilera recently opened up about her divorce saying, âItâs not easy and there have been a lot of tears and sadness.â She went on to say, âItâs impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.â The American Music Awards 2010 will air live on November 21 from 8pm ET on ABC. Rihanna expected to kick off the event. The other performers are Bon Jovi, Usher and Pink. More musical acts and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. Eminem and Lady Antebellum will enter the event as the evening’s top nominees with five nods each, while Justin Bieber has been recognized in four categories and Ke$ha, Usher, B.o.B and Katy Perry were honored in three groups.
