With a new look and new label, R&B crooner Lloyd is ready for the world as he gears up for the release of fourth studio album, King of Hearts, via Zone 4/Interscope Records. Lloyd spoke to MTV recently about working with Polow on King of Hearts, maintaining that the hit-maker “brings out the best of me.” “Me and Polow Da Don have been working hard,” he added. “I got a lot of surprises. I think that a lot of people haven’t heard me sound like this, haven’t heard me sing like this. It’s gonna be a new look, it’s gonna be like I’m back for the first time. It should be anticipated. The album is gonna be my best work to date, King of Hearts.” The album’s lead single “Lay It Down” was produced by Polow Da Don, who also makes a cameo in the recently premiered video. Directed by Mikey Finnegan, the video showcases an intimate session with Lloyd and a love interest. Keri Hilson also makes an appearance in the video. King of Hearts is expected to drop later this year.
