Eminem and Rihanna’s ‘Lie’ Video Paints Reality For Many

Eminem and Rihanna have the whole world buzzing about their music video for the Billboard Hot 100 number one single “Love The Way You Lie.” Tackling a subject both faced in there past, Rihanna and Eminem shines the light on domestic violence in the video, which features Transformer star Megan Fox and Lost star Dominic Monaghan going through a cycle of arguments, fights, drinking and more. The video has a number of scenes of domestic violence in which the couple goes back and forth between getting physically violent with each other and making love to each other, including a scene in which Monaghan’s character attacks a man who is talking to Fox’s character and then passionately kisses her seconds later. In between scenes, Rihanna, 22, sings outside a house that bursts into flames while the couple, Fox and Monaghan, are inside. She recently told Access Hollywood that the song was something she “needed” to do. Eminem is captured rapping his strong lyrics from an isolated field before joining Rihanna. “[Director] Joseph [Kahn] and I worked pretty closely together to make sure we got this right,” said Eminem, 37. “Trying to make this tough subject work visually is a challenge. It was great to have Rihanna, Megan and Dominic on board for this. They really brought it and made this video super-powerful.” It was reported that Megan Fox donated the earnings from the video to Sojourn House, a shelter for abused women.
