Usher looks to be having a rough year. If a report issued by NY Daily News is correct, the R&B singer is standing on shaky ground thanks to his mom/manager quitting late last year ! According to NY Daily News, Jonetta Patton had enough of Usher’s rumored girlfriend and Def Jam executive Grace Miguel, parting ways in order to preserve their mother/son relationship. “She walked away from the project because Usher had his girlfriend [and former Def Jam executive] Grace Miguel was all in the mix,” a source reports. “She felt as though if she didnât end things when she did, it would permanently affect their personal relationship.” While Usher and his mom have parted ways before (his decision the first time), the timing of this particular split allegedly caused the album “Raymond V. Raymond” to be shelved. According to the same source, music executives did not feel comfortable releasing the album on its original release date last year, citing “chaos in the camp”. News of Usher’s mother parting ways is not the first to break when it comes to “Raymond V. Raymond”. In November, a source said Usher’s alleged girlfriend and former Def Jam Exec. Grace Miguel was getting too close to his project. Miguel is not the first woman to conflict with Usher and his mother’s relationship, Tameka Raymond, Usher’s wife at one point, allegedly had troubles with Patton. Nonetheless, the album is due for release March 30.
