Award winning Gospel recording artist Donnie McClurkin will be honored at the 50th Jubilee Gala Celebration, benefiting Haitian earthquake relief efforts of Feed The Children, World Vision and Operation Compassion later this month. Scheduled to take place Monday, January 25th in Long Island, NY, the exclusive black-tie dinner will recognize the ministry and musical achievements of McClurkin. Hosted by Emmy Award winning co-host of The View, Sherri Shepherd and Grammy Award winner Bebe Winans the 50th Jubilee Gala Celebration is expected to include performances and appearances from Bebe & Cece Winans, Anthony Evans, Karen Clark Sheard and the legendary Walter Hawkins. Various celebrities and friends have also lent their time and talents to the fight to combat childhood hunger and poverty. Pastor McClurkin will auction off one-of-a-kind celebrity-designed autographed plates. Representing a meal for a hungry child, these special plates have been donated by Oprah Winfrey, Steve Harvey, Patti LaBelle, Dwyane Wade, Chaka Khan, Maya Angelou and Sherri Shepherd. This is a once in a lifetime chance to bid on these unique pieces of art. Recognizing the severity of the catastrophic effects of last week’s earthquake, McClurkin was resolved to change the focus of the fundraiser celebration. “I am totally overwhelmed by the devastation that has taken place in Haiti. It is unfathomable to see such suffering and while I know our efforts today are a mere drop in the bucket, I hope we can do our part in assisting these important organizations provide food, supplies and manpower,” said Pastor McClurkin.
