Mariah Carey is back on top thanks to a surprising hit from yesteryear. According to Billboard, the “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” diva has earned the distinction of having the most popular song of the decade with “We Belong Together”. While Carey had a tough start this decade with the 2001 film and soundtrack album “Glitter,” she turned things around with the lauded 2005 effort “The Emancipation of Mimi”. Thanks to that album, Carey unleashed the hit single “We Belong Together” which remained on the Billboard Hot 100 fourteen non-consecutive weeks in 2005. Carey is joined by boy band, N’Sync, who reportedly have the best selling album this decade thanks to “No Strings Attached”. Featuring the singles “Bye, Bye, Bye” and “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “No Strings Attached” has sold over 10 million copies since its release.
