Whitney Houston has joined the line up for this year’s American Music Awards, making her first performance on the coveted program in over five years. Set to perform “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” from the 2009 effort “I Look To You,” Houston joins Rihanna, Adam Lambert, Daughtry, the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Jay Z and Shakira, who are all set to perform. While Houston failed to snag a nomination for this year’s broadcast, the “Million Dollar Bill” diva will receive a special award. According to AMA organizers, Houston will receive its AMA International Artist Award in celebration of achievement and acclaim worldwide. Houston will join previous AMA International Artist Award winners Michael Jackson, the Bee Gees, Aerosmith, Madonna, Beyonce, Led Zeppelin, and Rod Stewart. The 37th Annual American Music Awards air November 22 on ABC.
