Fresh off appearing at the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards, burgeoning Hip Hop duo Flyy Academy are the latest to weigh in on MTV’s controversial ‘Top 10 Hottest Emcees List’. Revealed earlier this month, the ‘Hottest Emcees List’ included everyone from Lil Wayne to Kanye West and Drake to Jay Z. Like other Hip Hop fans, the duo says some names are missing. When asked who, Flyy Academy’s DJ and David mention West Coast veteran Snoop Dogg. “Master P and Snoop Dogg,” says DJ of Flyy Academy. While some might disagree, Flyy Academy recognizes the strengths of each artist including the ability to create hits linked with R&B and soul influences like “Signs” and “Beautiful”. “Hip Hop is da Rock and R&B is the Roll,” says Flyy Academy. “They go together like a marriage.” Working on their soon to be released mixtape, Flyy Academy is the latest act to come from the Atlanta music scene under MEG Artist Management and Empire Entertainment. Buzzing with the club ready single “That’s How I Rock,” Flyy Academy say they’re here to “take it back to the basics.” For more on Flyy Academy check them out at twitter.com/flyyacademy and myspace.com/flyyacademy .
