Beyonce and JLS were among Wednesday’s big winners at the 2009 MOBO Awards in Glasgow. Picking up awards for hits including “Single Ladies” and “Beat Again,” the group was joined by attending celebs Keri Hilson, La Toya Jackson, Kelly Rowland, Jermaine Jackson and N-Dubz. Beyonce, while not in attendance, received MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards for Best International and Best Video (“Single Ladies”). JLS, known to most as finalists of the hit reality competition ‘The X Factor’, picked up MOBOs for Best Newcomer and Best Song (“Beat Again”). Beyond award presentations, this year’s MOBO ceremony paid tribute to late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Both La Toya and Jermaine Jackson were in attendance at the Glasgow ceremony. Jermaine Jackson, performing the song “Smile,” told fans his brother “was a wonderful artist and a wonderful human being”. Hip Hop trio N-Dubz also picked up two awards, one for Best Album and the other for Best Act. See photos from this year’s MOBO Awards HERE.
