In unexpected news, “Hypothetically,” “Cops Up” and “S.E.X.” singer Lyfe Jennings says his next album will likely be the last. “This is my last album,” Jennings told EURâs Lee Bailey recently. According to Jennings his children and forced time away from music last year are behind his decision to put down the mic. “I have three children and they’re at an age where they really need me there. I just canât be on the road seven, eight months of the year. They need me in their life right now.” News of Jennings’ intent to put down the mic after nearly six years of success and a breakthrough debut (Lyfe 268-192), comes as a surprise. Since 2004, Jennings has released three albums and nearly reached the top of the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs tally with “S.E.X.”in 2006. While Jennings’ is intent on making this his last release for some time, he says there is more ‘lyfe’ at the end of the tunnel. “Iâm going to continue to tour, but Iâm not going to tour in connection with an album so therefore I wonât be touring as much. Iâm on my own label and I plan on doing other things with the label. Everything will work out,” Jennings tells EUR. For more on Jennings’ new album and plans post “Sooner or Later” visit Eurweb.
