Rihanna can either be a hero or remain silent according to Jay-Z. ‘There’s a contingent of young people who are going through the same situation and no one is their voice,” Jay-Z told Oprah Winfrey when discussing Rihanna’s life and career post Chris Brown. As previously reported, Brown plead guilty to felony assault after beating Rihanna in February. While Brown has spoken out, Rihanna has thus far remained silent. According to Jay-Z however, the “Rehab” singer can either remain silent or become a voice for others when the time is right. “She can be their hero or she can choose not to grow from this,” says Jay-Z. Rihanna is due to release a new album later this year. Thus far Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake have confirmed that Rihanna will be more “edgy” and mature on the forthcoming project.
