Mary J. Blige will be the guest of honor at the forthcoming 10th Annual New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala. Slated to be honored for her work with children and families, as founder of FFAWN (Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now), Blige will receive the Nicholas Schoppetta Child Welfare Award on September 22. Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN), an organization which helps boost women’s confidence and acquire the skills needed to achieve their full potential, was created and funded by Blige and Steve Stoute in 2007. Anderson Cooper is due to host the 10th Annual New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala.
