Omarion may be out of a recording contract at Young Money but, the “Icebox” singer is still pushing forward with plans to release a new album. “ALBUM ‘OLLUSION’ still koming… video still koming really soon. luv yall thanx for holdin me down!,” Omarion wrote on Twitter Thursday. While Omarion is in good spirits about the album, originally titled “A New Me,” the former B2K member is facing an uphill battle after news broke that he had been dropped Thursday. News first broke of Omarion being booted from Young Money, a label attached to Grammy-winning Hip Hop star Lil Wayne, when label President Mack Maine wrote “ATTN: Omarion is no longer Young Money ⦠the song they leaked ft. Wayne is not official .. good luck 2 him in his future” on Twitter. Maine’s 140-character post on Twitter was then followed by Young Money artist Jae Millz, who re-tweeted (RT’d) what Maine wrote to confirm the drop. Contrary to Maine and Millz tweets, Omarion says he was not dropped and in fact, requested a release from the deal he inked earlier this year. “There’s alot of people thinking i got dropped from Y.m that has never nor will ever b the kase I asked to be.. released,” Omarion wrote on Twitter late Thursday. “I didnt get dropped,” he continued. Not seeming to harbor any ill feelings towards Lil Wayne and the rest of the label, ironically connected with Cash Money, who signed former collaborating (“Face Off”) partner Bow Wow this week, Omarion went on to say “I wish wayne and all of Y.m good luck for there future. There r no hard feelings, business is business… I made a decision that I felt was best for me”. Omarion’s decision to part ways with Young Money follows a similar exit from Epic Records in 2008. In related news, Omarion was spotted on the set of Keri Hilson’s new video with both Monica and Chris Brown in tow. See photos from the shoot HERE on Singersroom.
