Mariah Carey Making Sure Album Is Right, No Big Deal Says Rep

Mariah Carey may have postponed a few things but her publicist says fans should not be alarmed. “She’s making sure the record is how she wants it to be and its no big deal,” says a rep for the “Obsessed” diva. News of the chart-topping singer’s intent on making sure the album is “how she wants it to be” follows a mirage of reported cancellations and postponed appearances including an anticipated performance on the TODAY show. Contrary to reports, Carey’s publicist tells PEOPLE, the appearances are simply postponed. “These dates have been postponed and not canceled…. It’s nothing unusual and it doesn’t signal anything. There are a lot of moving parts to Mariah’s professional life.” As previously reported on Singersroom, Mariah Carey’s anticipated “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” (album) is due in stores and digital retailers September 29, it had been scheduled for release August 25 and September 15 prior. In related news, Mariah Carey is said to be on track to release a “Vision of Love” like “power ballad” as the first official single from “Memoirs..” (more on that story here…)
