It might just be ladies night when the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards air on MTV September 13. Nominations for the anticipated celebration of music, already confirmed to feature P!nk, were announced Tuesday. Beyonce and Lady Gaga earned a total of nine nominations, followed by seven nods for Britney Spears. On the other side however, Hip Hopand R&B recording artists Jay-Z, Eminem,Kanye West and Ne-Yo are nominated for Best Male Video. This year’s top honor, Video of the Year, may go to Beyoncé (“Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”), Eminem (“We Made You”), Britney Spears (“Womanizer”), Lady Gaga (“Poker Face”) or Kanye West (“Love Lockdown”). Russell Brand is set to host the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards live from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall September 13. Ne-Yo and P!nk are among those confirmed to participate in the ceremony that has featured performances from Beyonce, Chris Brown, T-Pain, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and more in recent years.
