Janet Jackson, Dupri Call It Quits After Seven Years

Rumors that Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have been on the rocks appear to be true according to Us Weekly. The magazine reports that the duo has officially called it quits after a seven year public relationship. “His friends are telling people it’s over,” says a source. “They have been moving in different directions for a while.” News of the split follows the duo’s recently public and blended business relationship. At one point Dupri oversaw much of Jackson’s discography including 2008s “20 Y.O.”. Rumors began to hit the net in 2008, prompting Dupri to shoot one of his many YouTube distributed videos with Jackson in the background. Sources claiming to be close to the couple tell Us Weekly they never should have been together in the first place. “Jermaine likes to be out there mingling with everybody and Janet’s more shy.” Jackson and Dupri’s last major public appearance was at Kerzner International’s grand opening of its Atlantis resort in Dubai in November. Jackson had aided Kerzner just over a year earlier, performing for the opening its Cove Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.
