Grammy Award-winning recording artist Mariah Carey has come forward to address concerns over her performance at Michael Jackson’s memorial Tuesday. Addressing those who had a few not so friendly things to say about the performance, Carey took to Twitter stating: “Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. Iâm sorry that I wasnât able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me.” “One thing I know is, we will never really have to say goodbye to MJ. His legacy lives on through his music and the millions of people. He inspired with his timeless music. He will be forever in our hearts.” Carey was truly moved, as millions were during the ceremony. In addition to Carey, Trey Lorenz, Stevie Wonder, and Lionel Richie took the stage at the memorial. For more on the memorial including reaction from other artists click here.
