Teena Marie Pits Soul Stop at Congo Square

Soulful Lady T, better known as Teena Marie is ready to unleash a new address for soulful singers titled “Congo Square”. According to Marie her thirteenth release, “Congo Square,” was inspired by New Orleans’ noted music scene and fellow singers Eyrkah Badu and Jill Scott. Sharing the news with Singersroom, Marie calls to mind the time where artists like Earth, Wind & Fire imploded at radio. “When we turned turned on the radio we instantly knew it was Earth, Wind and Fire, Led Zeplin, Crosby Stills and Nash, or Aretha Franklin or Chaka Khan and Rufus. Now there are great artists but you have to filter through a lot to get to the good ones,” says Teena Marie. Click Here to watch Marie’s exclusive interview with Singersroom !
