Ciara Goes Hard Away From Radio, Despite Comparisons

Janet, Beyonce and Britney are all names Ciara has had to contend with over the years. But when it comes to recording songs and putting an album, like “Fantasy Ride” together Ciara says the radio is turned off. “It’s important to me to not recreate what is already done,” Ciara told Sirius radio’s Whoo Kid recently. “Songs like “Goodies,” “One 2 Step,” “Oh,” and “Promise,” records like these always, to me, felt different than what was at radio.” Could that be what Ciara was going for on May’s “Fantasy Ride” ? The guess is yes, considering records titled “Like A Surgeon” and “Work” — both forthcoming singles that will receive video treatment soon. “I can tell you that one of my videos is Work,” Ciara confirmed in May. “My ultimate goal is to always give you something else. I go hard on this record,” she went on to say. “Work” is likely to be like two friends reuniting since Missy and Ciara have enjoyed plenty of chart-topping success together over the years. Their hits “1,2 Step(2004)” and “Lose Control(2005)” both ended up in the top 10 in not only the United States but in Australia, the UK and Ireland. In related news, Ciara performed at the 2009 MTV Japan Video Music Awards over the weekend, Click Here to view photos from the show.
