Move over Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Britney Spears, noted journalist Daphne Barak is filming a soon to be released documentary with approval from Amy Winehouse! Barak, known for his work with Michael Jackson in recent years, has been granted access to the embattled Grammy-winning pop star and her father for what is being deemed “a truthful and revealing look at her complicated life”. According to PEOPLE, Barak has already shot much of his documentary with Winehouse and her father in St. Lucia where the “Rehab” singer has been laying low for months. Sources say the documentary, portions of which are on Barak’s website, show Winehouse hosting a birthday party as well as a brief interview with her father Mitch who says the island getaway in St. Lucia has been helpful to his daughter who is struggling with sobriety and fame. While a release date and distribution details have not been revealed, sources believe the documentary will be released later this year.
