The Queen of Hip Hop Soul and King of the South are joining forces in what might be deemed the perfect way to “temporarily” bow out — yes, we’re talking Mary J. Blige and T.I.! Blige and T.I. have linked up for the song “Don’t Forget,” T.I.’s first single from a soon-to-be-released “revamped” issue of 2008s “Paper Trail”. On the song, released this week, Mary J. Blige sings “Don’t forget to remember me. Please keep me in your heart, if we ever have to part”. T.I., telling everyone that’s he’s gone momentarily and not to bury him, raps “N—as jumped up, cheered when I got my time,” he raps. “Like, ‘Yeah. One more year I got to grind’/ But get me losing off your mind/ May I remind you/ Ain’t a another n—a that been through what I been through.” MTV has confirmed that a video for “Don’t Forget” will indeed be shot soon at an undisclosed location. At press time a release date for T.I.’s revamped version of “Paper Trail” had not been unveiled.
