R&B singer Whitney Houston refuses to let her stepmother Barbara Houston sue her without her own retaliation. Houston is countersuing Barbara for $1.6 million, claiming she owes her money for failing to make payments on her condo in NJ where sheâs lived since 1987. As reported last November (08) by Singersroom, Barbara alleges her stepdaughter was instructed to use her father’s $1 million life insurance policy to pay off the mortgage on his residence and hand over the title to the property and any remaining funds. Barbara says Whitney was supposed to use $723,000 of the money to pay off the remaining mortgage on her father’s condominium, after he died in 2003. She says It was her husbandâs âwish.â But now Whitney says she provided her father with a mortgage loan to purchase the condo and was still owed most of the principal and all the interest when he died. And she says her mom owes her money for not paying her mortgage all these years!
