A close confidant of “Circus” star Britney Spears says the “pop princess” was at one point afraid of her father and in search of help ! Christina Lufti, the sister of Spears’ former manager and close friend, revealed shocking testimony as a surprise witness during the singer’s extended legal battle Wednesday. Reportedly sharing Spears’ concern over her now legally assigned father Jamie Spears, Lufti advised the court of the “Womanizer” singer’s plea for help in finding her own lawyer after being frightened by her father. According to a report issued by the AP, Christina Lutfi said Britney Spears told her that she was afraid of her father and needed her brother’s help to hire her own attorney in addition to claiming that her brother gave Britney a prepaid cell phone so that the two could stay in contact with each other. According to Lufti, she made several calls to Spears to ensure she was safe. Lufti’s testimony comes within days of an alleged call for help iniated by Britney Spears. The alleged call, released through jfxonline, notes Britney as being concerned about her father taking custody of her children. The testimony also follows an alleged legal battle between Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, and the fansite Breathe Heavy.com. As previously reported on Singersroom, Breathe Heavy webmaster Jordan Miller says Jamie Spears threatened to “destroy” his fansite. Jamie Spears has controlled his daughter’s personal and financial affairs since last February, when he intervened after the singer had to be hospitalized twice. The singer’s mother, Lynne Spears, accused Lutfi at the time of grinding pills into her daughter’s food to control her. Spears’ case is set to continue April 21.SRC: AP/BreatheHeavy.com/US Weekly
