Former Greys Anatomy star Isaiah Washington has been cast in the forthcoming biopic of late entertainer Lou Rawls ! Washington will reportedly star as Rawls in the currently titled (scripted) pic “Through The Eyes of a Son,” an uncensored look at the singer who earned the praise of greats like Frank Sinatra as both a crooner and actor. “It’s the untold side of a glamorous life,” Adel Nur, Washington’s manager told Hollywood Reporter. “It’s like Ray, we knew about the beautiful music, be we didn’t know about the turmoil and chaos in (Ray Charles’) life.” Rawls son, Lou Rawls Jr., co-wrote the script with Pathway Entertainment’s Robert Egan and Dimi Sloane and will also serve as a producer. “We’re showing the real story — what he was doing to his wife before walking out onstage and wooing the audience with a big smile, ” says Egan. Rawls, who died in 2006 after becoming an icon that often hosted events such as UNCF’s “An Evening Of Stars”, also had a side career in Hollywood, lending his voice to such cartoons as “Garfield” and “Hey Arnold!” and making appearances in movies like “Blues Brothers 2000.”
