Tickets for Michael Jackson’s highly anticipated “This Is It” concert series at London’s O2 Arena have sold out, prompting the ‘King of Pop’ to add 16 additional dates ! According to AEG Live, 19 shows sold out during today’s presale event, around half the total number of tickets available for each show. Because of the immediate sell out, which happened within minutes of becoming available, sources say Jackson and his team have opted to add extra dates, bringing the total number of “comeback” shows to 26 ! While news of the additional dates being added is good news for fans, promoters believe they may have to add a few more dates if demand continues at this rate. In a report issued early Wednesday, it was said that over 1 million fans had registered for the presale. Tickets will be made available to the general public Friday. Chris Edmonds, managing director of Ticketmaster U.K., said in a statement: “We have witnessed an unprecedented level of demand for the Michael Jackson concerts at the O2. Unfortunately due to a technical issue, we were unable to facilitate all immediate ticket requests. Apologies to those fans who were unable to log on, but fans should keep on trying to purchase tickets.”
