Erykah Badu ‘Captured’ In After Midnight Series, Teams With Non Profit

The essence of soulful singer Erykah Badu has been captured in a one of a kind series of paintings titled the “After Midnight Series” ! The “After Midnight Series” is a personal excursion for Steven Lopez, a respected Los Angeles artist who combined his two passions, music and art, to create a series of paintings that also includes musical greats Chaka Khan, Sade Adu, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott and India.Arie. “Erykah is one of my favorite artists of all time and I’ve been looking forward to interpreting her music since I saw her perform in 2005 during the “Sugar Water” tour stop at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles,” says Lopez. According to Lopez, the After Midnight Series will include 100 limited edition giclee prints signed by Erykah Badu. A special signing will take place on March 24th in Badu’s hometown of Dallas. They will then be available for purchase, Midnight, April 15th exclusively through A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Badu’s charity organization, B.L.I.N.D. (Beautiful Love Incorporated Non Profit Development). Established in 1997, B.L.I.N.D. provides community driven development for inner-city youth through dance, music, theater and visual arts programs.
