Chris Brown is home and “very remorseful” according to his biological father, Clinton Brown. Brown, who spoke with PEOPLE Friday, says “He needed some time to get his thoughts together and regroup.” “This is unfortunate — this stumble, this situation. Hopefully, he will get past it.” Since Sunday Chris Brown has been virtually silent amidst claims that he’d updated his Facebook page to reflect “single” instead of “in a relationship” ( a story later refuted by sources close to the singer ). While most expected a statement from the singer or his management Friday, the silence surrounding the allegations and backlash that has followed has continued. Despite what has happened, Brown’s father hopes true fans will stick by his son: “Just because someone trips, if you are truly a fan, you are not going to demonize him instantaneously.” “This music industry is very unforgiving when it comes to having indiscretions. He will continue to be a good person. He loves people. And like most of us, most humans, things will occur. And hopefully a person won’t be judged simply on that alone.”
