R&B singers Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx each picked up NAACP Image Awards Thursday night in sort of a partial ‘Dreamgirls’ reunion. The threesome enjoyed much success with the blockbuster ‘Dreamgirls’ in 2006 and so it was reportedly a much celebrated reunion at the awards where all three (at least two were present) artists nabbed trophies for their most recent efforts including Beyonce’s “I Am… Sasha Fierce”. Beyonce, who also performed “Halo” during the awards, picked up an Image Award for Outstanding Female Artist while recent Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson nabbed three awards including Outstanding New Artist, Outstanding Duo and Outstanding Album. Foxx, currently enjoying the success of the T-Pain assisted single “Blame It,” picked up the award for Best Male Artist — a category he shared with “Take You Down” Chris Brown. Brown, who is currently involved in a much-talked-about investigation was a no show for the event. Will Smith, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Taraji P. Henson were also among those who took home awards during the NAACP Image Awards 40th annual ceremony broadcast Live! on Fox.
