After becoming the topic of much scrutiny Thursday, iconic singer Etta James says she’s nothing but a comedian. “I didn’t really mean anything,” James told NY Daily News after she slammed Beyonce on stage for singing “her song” “At Last” at Barack Obama’s Neighborhood Ball in January. “Even as a little child, I’ve always had that comedian kind of attitude…that’s probably what went into it.” While James admits she’s sort-of sorry about the whole thing, sources at NY Daily News say the singer is not backing off her stance that she could’ve performed the song and felt “left out”. In fact, when asked about Beyonce’s performance and whether she could do it better James said “I think so. That’s a shame to say that”. As for Barack Obama, who she called “the president with the big ears,” James says “I still had my joke about him. That may be horrible.” “He’s got other stuff (to worry about) besides Etta James.”
