Beyonce has earned a 12th week atop the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop songs tally with the popular track “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”. News of the 12th consecutive week follows last week’s RIAA 2X Platinum certification for the “I Am…Sasha Fierce” singer’s latest album. According to Billboard, Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” has rebounded on the Hot 100 where it moved from 3-2, pushing Lady GaGa’s “Just Dance” down to #4. Kanye West, who will perform at this weekend’s Grammy Awards, has moved up the Hot 100 4-3. While Kanye and Beyonce continue to stay strong on the charts, Lil Wayne’s brand new single “Prom Queen” is doing even better. According to Nielsen Soundscan, “Prom Queen,” the rapper’s first single from “The Rebirth” (his rock tinged album) debuted at no. 17. Of Lil Wayne’s previous singles as a lead artist, only “Got Money” started off in the same frame (#13). In related news, American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson remains atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second week. The former “Breakaway” singer’s new single “My Life Would Suck Without You” is holding strong at no.1 while also climbing the airplay tally (38-19). Next Week: Watch for Jennifer Hudson’s new single “If This Isn’t Love”.
