R&B singer/songwriter Chrisette Michele, best known for the 2007 breakthrough single “If I Had My Way” is back and ready to heat things up with the help of Ne-Yo ! Michele, who released the Def Jam debut “I Am” in 2007, will release the first single from her as-yet-untitled sophomore album February 10th. The single, titled “Epiphany,” finds Michele grasping the reality of a failed relationship singing “I think I’m just about over being your girlfriend. I’m leaving. No more wondering about what you been doing, where you been sleeping, it’s over.” While details are limited on the soulful singer’s new album, the “Love Is You” singer confirms working with five-time Grammy nominated R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo. Speaking about her decision to work with Ne-Yo, Michele says “.. what I wanted from Ne-Yo was a balance between a lovely lyric and a great melody”. Admitting that she’d grabbed several songs from Ne-Yo during a session in November via Myspace, Michele also says she’s spent time with Claude Kelly and B Major while penning a number of tracks herself. Chrisette Michele became one of 2007s breakthrough artists with the single “If I Had My Way” which reached #4 on Billboard Adult R&B airplay chart and #24 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. Michele’s Def Jam debut “I Am” has also been certified Gold. Chrisette Michele’s as-yet-untitled sophomore album is slated for release March 31 via Def Jam.
