I think I’ve come into my womanhood on this album and I have truly grown spiritually and naturally, says Grammy-nominated contemporary gospel artist Kierra Sheard. Hailing from the bloodline of the legendary Clark Sisters, Sheard, who has dropped the “Kiki” from her name, recently released “Bold Right Life,” a follow up to her Stellar award winning debut. Stellar Award Nominees Announced, Sinbad To Host Nominees for Gospel music’s biggest night, the 24th Annual Stellar Awards, have been announced. BET Award winner and “Never Would Have Made It” superstar Marvin Sapp leads with nine nominations including Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of The Year and Artist of the Year where he shares the nomination with Kirk Franklin, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Ricky Dillard and Beverly Crawford. Sapp’s latest album “Thirsty” will compete with Tye Tribbett’s “Stand Out”; Kirk Franklin’s “The Fight of My Life”; Dorinda Clark-Cole’s “Take It Back”; and Ricky Dillard & New G’s “The 7th Episode: Live In Toronto.” Deitrick Haddon, Israel & New Breed, CeCe Winans and Bryon Cage also received multiple nominations. Hosted by Yolanda Adams and Sinbad, the Stellar Awards will also honor Vickie Winans (Most Notable Achievement), the Rance Allen Group and Daryl Coley (The James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award). The 24th Annual Stellar Awards are slated to tape on Jan. 17 in Nashville. The show will air on select networks including the Gospel Music Channel during the first week of March. On The Move: T.D. Jakes’ Talk Show Moves One Step Forward Bishop T.D. Jakes is one step closer to premiering his much-talked about daytime talk show. Tribune Broadcasting cut a deal with CBS Television recently to feature Jakes’ show in 19 markets including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago next fall. Developed by Jay McGraw, the as-yet-untitled show follows the Bishop Jakes’ TBN based broadcast ‘The Potter’s Touch’. Vote For ‘Sunday Best’ BET is narrowing down its list of finalists for the second season of “Sunday Best.” According to casting reports, ten semi-finalists will be presented via BET.com for voting on Nov. 17. Crystal Aiken, a 33 year old emergency room nurse, won the title “Sunday Best” on the first season of BET’s gospel competition. Over 1.5 million votes were cast leading up to the season finale.
