By the end of this week Lil Wayne may have a new moniker to go by…. “Greatest Canceling Rapper Alive.” After canceling, ‘no-showing’ and blatantly missing several highly anticipated shows over the last week or so, Lil Wayne is leaving ‘spoiled lollipops’ all over the Northeast as fans and organizers grow tired of his alleged antics. As previously reported on Singersroom, Lil Wayne refused to perform in Rochester, New York over the weekend due to the sound system while fellow Hip Hop star Ludacris, who performed with the system earned praise for ‘saving the show.’ According to several outlets, Lil Wayne refused to go on stage at a 94.5 Monster Jam Concert in Boston Monday due to “security issues.” While no official statement had been released from Lil Wayne’s camp officials at Monster Jam said “He and his crew refused to comply to standard Boston Police Department guidelines and pass through a metal detector, that every other artist, guest and staff member adhered to, including Jay-Z and his guest Lebron James! Wayne actually cleared through security twice, but then turned back and went to his vehicle after his crew refused to go through security.” In the wake of these two shows, Wayne has officially canceled several shows planned for this week including an Oct. 31 performance booked for Raleigh’s RBC Arena and a Nov. 1 performance at Boardwalk Hall. — No explanation or rescheduled dates had been offered at press time. In light of recent events Lil Wayne is starting to leave a pattern of not showing up or at least not performing at venues where fans should be number one as the rapper reportedly talks about on his latest project. The “Got Money” star’s problems date back to several canceled dates earlier this year in cities like Vancouver and Toronto as well as New York where he was to appear at CBS’ Fashion Rocks for… guess the reason…”refusing to go through security!” While his Boston slot was filled in by Jay Z, who extended his set to cover for the star amidst chants of “Wayne & Weezy” one fan told Media Take Out: “A security guard gave us the word Weezy was too f*cked up to come out … all of a sudden Jay-Z comes out performing – absolutely kills it!” What do you think of Lil Wayne’s ‘no-showing’ and canceling dates repeatedly ?
