LeToya Busy At Work On New Album, Searches For The Best Records

R&B signer LeToya Luckett is busy at work on the follow up to her 2006 self titled debut. The singer known for launching a successful solo career post Destiny’s Child says “I’m about putting hot records on my album.” With the debut album which spawned the singles “She Don’t” and “Torn” out of the way the singer can clearly focus on her own ideas. In a recent interview, Le Toya says “It’s very hard for me to write without a track, I will write down ideas for a record.” – Apparently she is doing something right as ASCAP named Le Toya one of 2006’s top songwriters. The R&B singer was forced to climb an uphill battle when she released her first single “Torn” as she was known as “that girl from Destiny’s Child.” For Le Toya, she says her biggest challenge was performing alone. Before diving into her solo debut the singer also performed in the Houston based group Angel. “To get out there by myself, I was a nervous wreck” she says of her first solo performances. Although details are sketchy about the singer’s upcoming release, Danjahandz, J.R. Rotem, Pharrell Williams, Tricky Stewart, Teddy Riley, and Timbaland have been linked to LeToya’s sophomore album due later this year. Source: Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin
