R&B signer LeToya Luckett is busy at work on the follow up to her 2006 self titled debut. The singer known for launching a successful solo career post Destinyâs Child says âIâm about putting hot records on my album.â With the debut album which spawned the singles âShe Donâtâ and âTornâ out of the way the singer can clearly focus on her own ideas. In a recent interview, Le Toya says âItâs very hard for me to write without a track, I will write down ideas for a record.â â Apparently she is doing something right as ASCAP named Le Toya one of 2006’s top songwriters. The R&B singer was forced to climb an uphill battle when she released her first single âTornâ as she was known as âthat girl from Destinyâs Child.â For Le Toya, she says her biggest challenge was performing alone. Before diving into her solo debut the singer also performed in the Houston based group Angel. âTo get out there by myself, I was a nervous wreckâ she says of her first solo performances. Although details are sketchy about the singerâs upcoming release, Danjahandz, J.R. Rotem, Pharrell Williams, Tricky Stewart, Teddy Riley, and Timbaland have been linked to LeToyaâs sophomore album due later this year. Source: Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin
