Update: Raphael Saadiq Sets September Release For ‘The Way I See It’

R&B singer/songwriter Raphael Saadiq has picked September 16th for the release of his latest album, “The Way I See It” via Columbia. Led by the first single “Never Give You Up,” which features harmonica from Stevie Wonder “The Way I See It” is Saadiq’s first release since 2004’s Ray Ray. As previously reported on Singersroom, Saadiq cited The Delfonics, The Stylistics, Al Green, The Four Tops and Sam Cooke as inspiration for his new album . “Once I got into this, I got almost stuck ‘in character,’ the character of the old school singers I listened to. But I’m happy and excited it’s done. I put in a lot of work and I feel like I achieved something really great” says Saadiq. According to Billboard, the album will also feature the Hurricane Katrina inspired “Big Easy” and “Just One Kiss” featuring Joss Stone who worked with Saadiq on her 2007 album “Introducing Joss Stone.” Raphael Saadiq’s “The Way I See It” hits stores September 16th !
